Botox

How does Botox Work?

Botox is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). Botox is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles in the desired area. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. The Botox can take up to two (2) weeks to fully take effect, reflecting the time necessary to disrupt the synaptosomal process.

What do I need to know?

  • Getting a Botox injection takes just a few minutes.
  • Botox injections also are frequently used to reduce other wrinkles on the face and neck, such as crow’s feet, brow furrow, and forehead lines
  • The results are temporary, typically lasting between 3 to 5 months. You will have to return for injections every 3 to 4 months to keep the effect.
  • The dose of Botox usually is the same, or less, each time you get an injection.
  • Over time, the muscles soften and lines fade and can even disappear.
  • Botox injections are more convenient and less painful than other procedures for reducing wrinkles and making your face look younger.
  • They work best in conjunctions with Skin Tightening (Venus Freeze), chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing and integrated home care).
  • To keep the effect, you will have to get injections several times a year

Areas Treated

Between Brows, Crows Feet, Horizontal Forehead Lines, Excessive Sweating in the underarms, Under Eye creasing, and other facial areas.

Dermal Fillers

Fillers are injected into the face to lift and fill lost volume. As we age, we lose the fatty tissue and volume under the skin, causing sagging and wrinkling of the lower face and lip area. There are many types of dermal fillers that can be injected in your face, lips and around your mouth. The most common fillers today are products that contain Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural sugar substance found in the body.
